Chambers Flat Suburb Profile
“’A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE”’
Chambers Flat is so close to all amenities but still has the country feel… it is a rural area 30km south of central Brisbane and 12km west of Beenleigh. It is bordered on its east and south by the Logan River and until 2008 was part of the Beaudesert Shire and in now in the Logan City Council.
Pastoral runs were established in the area from the early 1840’s. John Chambers took up land in the area in 1848 and the district is presumably named after him. Chambers Flat Provisional School opened on 27th
October 1890 and became Chambers Flat State School in 1909 and closed on 3rd
August 1921. Chambers Flat cemetery is also of historic value and was opened in 1878 and has approximately 70 graves.
Logan City council is planning to upgrade a 3.8 kilometre section of Chambers Flat Road, this upgrade will be from Mount Lindesay Highway, Munruben to just north of Kings Way Chambers Flat in the future and will provide a safer and more resilient transport link for the area.
One of the highlights of our area is of course the strawberry farm at 912 Chambers Flat Road and is open 9-5 pm daily (fun day out for the family and delicious).
